Jermaine Wiggins, the owner of DW Salads, has been serving the community for many years. After being part of the bar industry for a considerable amount of time, he realized that food was much more rewarding. That's when he started DW Dawgs 5 years ago, a hot dog joint that catered to the people of East Stroudsburg. However, as Covid hit, Wiggins noticed that the community needed healthier food options. That's when he decided to start another business DW Salads!

DW Salads is a new addition to the community, ready to bring a delightful selection catered to everyone’s taste buds. What sets DW Salads apart is the ability to create your own salad. When you order, you are handed a sheet that shows the entire selection, allowing you to choose exactly what you want. This means that every customer gets the exact experience they're looking for every time they visit! No classic salads are available just yet at DW Salads; instead, the focus currently is on creating a personalized, customizable salad that caters to everyone's taste buds.

The choices start as soon as you look at your paper for ordering. The toppings range from veggies to dressings to create the perfect salad for you. First up on your sheet is veggies! Veggies range from the always trusty onion, carrots, and tomatoes to the more trendy options like chickpeas and chia seeds. There are even choices such as sweet banana peppers and jalapeños for anyone ready to spice up their salad. When it comes to protein the options are enticing, including grilled chicken, buffalo chicken, tuna, turkey and more! Any choice is sure to make your salad a full meal. Next up are the cheeses you’ve been craving such as fresh mozzarella, feta crumble, and the always classic shredded cheddar. This quick and easy service has made it a favorite in the community. To make the process and experience even easier and catered to the customer they offer a variety of to-go options including salads in a jar! This option, in a mason jar to be more specific, is perfect for those back and forth between appointments, work, or sight seeing!    

The owner expressed his gratitude for  the community as he saw the influence they can have during such hard times. Even through the challenges Covid brought, he was able to continue his business and grow even more because of this community. DW Dawgs has moved to Courtland Street to be closer to the high school, where students can be around the community and small businesses instead of big business chains. Wiggins believes in staying involved with the community and getting to know the parents and families in the area. The art department of the school has even done some work inside DW Dawgs, and there are future plans for murals to decorate the outside of the building for seasons to come. With the warmer weather approaching, DW Salads expects to get even busier.
