Rosemarie Brown had been working in retail since the age of 16. That was until November of 2017 when the company she worked for in New York went out of business. Fast forward to November of 2018, when Rosemarie and her boyfriend Jerry Corva were on vacation in the Poconos when they saw a house for sale. After much encouragement from Jerry and with Rosemarie's years of experience they decided to take a risk buying a 100 year old home to turn into a shop called The Chic Farmhouse.

The name of their shop is very fitting because that is precisely what it is. It is chic with farmhouse style and it is filled with beautiful pieces that you won't find anywhere else. It all started with a love for farmhouse style and the area, as Rosemarie and Jerry felt there was a need for this style of shopping with all the farms and cozy atmosphere of the area.

The Chic Farmhouse is open seven days a week, Monday through Saturday from 10-5 and Sunday from 11-4. Their mission is to mix the old with the new. They have a passion for finding vintage pieces and giving them new life. They also have a love for supporting local artists, which is why they involve the community as much as possible. They have featured local artists who specialize in pastel paintings, local jewelry makers, and local embroidery designers. They even work closely with the Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network by donating proceeds from many antiques available at the store.

The Chic Farmhouse is more than just a shop; it is an experience. When you walk through the doors, you are immediately greeted by warm smiles and an inviting atmosphere. You can browse through a variety of items, from vintage decor to local handmade soaps and candles. There is something for everyone at The Chic Farmhouse.

Rosemarie and Jerry have truly created something special with their shop. They took a risk and turned a vacation into a business opportunity. They have created a place that is not only filled with beautiful items but also a sense of community. They have shown that with a little hard work, passion, and dedication, you can turn your dreams into a reality.
